Kleinshire Farms, LLC

Kleinshire is an intentionally small family farm located in southwest Wisconsin's famed "Driftless Region" ten minutes from Cashton, and just thirty minutes from La Crosse and the Mississippi River. We are husband-and-wife partner-farmers (Franz & Rosemary), with six rambunctious young boys. We are committed to raising them in wide-open spaces where they can roam free and learn the value of hard work, and we are convinced that there is still a way to make a living off one's own plot of land. While we've been homesteading for years, we are now in our fourth year of truly trying to make a living off the land. We grow certified organic produce both for Organic Valley and for sale on-site to local consumers. We've developed a strong following for our certified organic hardneck garlic, both for wholesale purchasers and direct-to-consumer. We also offer free-range broiler chickens throughout the summer and fall, pasture-raised turkeys prior to Thanksgiving, and meat and dairy goats, with sales of high quality breeding stock and goat meat. We do not make use of any antibiotics or chemical wormers whatsoever in our animal husbandry. We are excited to make a "go" of the 2020 growing season.
