THE NEST

THE NEST THE NEST is a ten acre farm in the watershed of the South Fork of the Bad Axe River, on homelands of three ancestral peoples: the Sauk, an eastern tribe that moved to what would be Wisconsin in the 17th century under pressure from the Iroquois; the Kickapoo, originally from current Indiana and now in Texas, Kansas, and Mexico; and the Iowa, originally part of the Menomonee and now in Kansas and Oklahoma. The heritage is that of woodland peoples. Vision THE NEST functions as a wholistic union of land, people, plants and animals with care for each. THE NEST exists in continuity with the land, people, plants and animals of our local area. THE NEST holds life, nurtures it, and sets it free to fly. Mission Our mission is to care for this land, grow food, and grow community through being good neighbors, seeking the energy of youth and bringing hands-on-workshops for skill building and regeneration/renewal of land, people and animals.
